Our Purification Process

You know we won't be tempted to take any shortcuts with your water.

Stage 1

1 Micron Pre-filters (x2)

Water is taken from the main supply and passed through fine micron filters to remove any small particles that may be present such as tiny dirt particles or fine debris from corroded mains supply pipework.

Stage 2

Carbon Tower

The filtered water is then passed through a tower of activated carbon. This removes the taste that remains after the water board chlorinates the water supply in order to destroy harmful bacteria from the catchment water. That same chlorination can also harm our reverse osmosis membranes later in the process.

Stage 3

Water Softener

The water is softened by adding natural sea salt to it. The salt helps destroy any microorganisms that may have entered the water subsequent to the water boards chlorination treatment.

Stage 4

1 Micron Filters (x2)

The salty water is filtered once again to remove any particular impurities that may have been added while softening with the sea salt.

Stage 5

Reverse Osmosis System

Osmosis is a natural process where water passes through a semi permeable membrane from a low salt concentration side to a high concentration side. In reverse osmosis (RO) pressure is used to reverse this process thereby allowing purified water to be obtained from a salty solution. In our process RO membranes are used to separate pure water from the softened water and at the same time removing any potentially harmful heavy metals that may be present. On the downstream side of the membranes our water is highly pure with virtually nothing else in it – just clean tasting H20 with no salt, no bacteria, and no nasties.

Stage 6

HYPER OZONE Sterilisation Process

After the RO purification the water is injected with ozone. The ozone is unstable and breaks down to oxygen overnight, but while it is still active it destroys any bacteria that may creep in on the way to the bottling process.

Final Stage

Bottle Cleaning

Bottles that are used to hold WaterWorld water are recycled from customers. They are returned to our factory where they are cleaned inside and out with detergent, then rinsed. Next they are sterilised with peroxide then rinsed thoroughly again with clean water. They are then ready to be filled.
